Marcharapandhithirummu is a massage therapy segment of Kalari marma treatment which is utilised to improve the strength and flexibility of hip joints and knees of the students who learn kalaripayattu. Marcharavadivu or cat posture and associated movements of kalaripayattu can be made perfect by the execution of this therapy. It will also improve the ability of body to shrink and fold maximum to pass through narrow, cylindical or square shaped passages or gaps. It is helpful to improve the ability to control breath and maintain long durations in low level body postures along with ability to move forward and backward in low stances and to perform advanced level therukkalukal of kalaripayattu.
