Kukkudavadivu or Rooster posture is an important posture among the basic eight postures of kalaripayattu. Various applications of verumkaimurakal or bare handed fighting tactics of kalaripayattu is involved in kukkudavadivu and associated movements like to jump high, to reach the opponent quickly, to attack on exact spot and to apply multiple attacks like kick on the face area then turn round without touching ground and apply threshing kick simultaneously to the chest portion of the opponent etc. There are more than 28 attacking methods are included in the kukkudavadivu. The quick and active movements of fighting roosters and several applications of bare handed fighting tactics of kalaripayattu can be executed only through the perfection of kukkudavadivu. Kalaripayattu postures massage therapy are used to be provided only for the dedicated students who have completed atleast 6 years in gurukul mode of kalaripayattu training. Kukudapandhithirummu is helpful to perfectly align the six dimensions of hip joints as a result students can able to perform perfection of Kukkudavadivu along with strength, attraction and endurance. It is also helpful to improve the abilities of joints and nerves which results in reducing palpitation and to stay long in fighting sequences untill achieving target.
